Business Development Manager
 
General Summary

The Business Development Manager reports directly to the Director of Customer Experiences – Sales & Marketing and is responsible for nurturing existing business relationships and cultivating new business opportunities that will achieve financial goals and objectives of CVSR.

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Responsible for exceeding sales goals and new business objectives for education, commercial and sponsorship revenues.
  • Responsible for developing business relationships that support and exceed CVSR financial goals.
  • Must be able to create tactical sales activities that drive successful goal achievements.
  • Collaborates with customer service and inside sales to develop a pipeline of new business prospects.
  • Understands the value of networking and leverages it as a means to identify new business targets.
  • Must have good communication skills, including written and public speaking.
  • Collaborate with Cuyahoga Valley National Park Partners for joint sales initiatives.
Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • The individual in this role must have a proven track record of success in business to business sales.
  • Three years sales or related business development experience required.
  •  The successful candidate will have a high level of comfort and experience making cold calls, generating leads, and navigating introductions to generate revenue.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field. Strong interpersonal and advanced oral and written communications skills.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to function with a high degree of independence and discretion.  Must be self-motivated and work independently with little supervision.
  • Proven ability to achieve aggressive performance goals and achieve measurable results.
  • Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Understand Profit & Loss, margins and importance of budget and quota requirements.

Language Skills

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively in writing through proposals, and all correspondence to different audiences.
  • Computer literate with above average knowledge Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel.
