To purchase tickets, follow these easy steps:

  • Go to the "Calendar" page
  • Select the date you wish to ride
  • Choose the station from which you wish to depart, and the time (the stations and departure times are shown below the tour name on the Calendar page.)
  • Enter your information
  • Print out your tickets!

OR

Simply go to the station 30 minutes prior to departure, and purchase your tickets then!

Tour Options

Starting July 2nd

National Park Scenic

Depart Rockside Station, Peninsula Depot, or Akron Northside Station and see Cuyahoga Valley National Park without leaving the comfort of the train.

Departs Rockside Station:

Wednesdays through Sundays:  9:00 am, 12:45 pm and 4:25 pm

Departs Peninsula Depot: 

Wednesdays through Sundays: 9:40 am, 11:30 am, 1:40 pm, and 3:30 pm

Departs Akron Northside Station:

Wednesdays through Sundays: 10:45 am and 2:40 pm

Peninsula Explorer

Take a layover in the canal-era town of Peninsula.  Visit the unique shops and one of the restaurants as the train continues on its way.  It will be back to take you back to the station where you started.

Departs Rockside Station:

Wednesdays through Sundays:  9:00 am, 12:45 pm and 4:25 pm

Departs Akron Northside Station:

Wednesdays through Sundays: 10:45 am and 2:40 pm

HALE FARM & VILLAGE

Take a trip to the past at this mid-19th century outdoor living history museum.  Visit dozens of historic structures, farm animals, heritage gardens and see cooking demonstrations and demonstrations of Early American crafts and trades.

Departs Rockside Station:

Wednesdays through Sundays at 9:00 am

Departs Akron Northside Station:

Saturdays and Sundays only at 10:45 am

COUNTRYSIDE farmers' MARKET AT hOWE MEADOW

Held at Howe Meadow on Saturdays from 9am-Noon through October 25, this Farmers' Market offers healthy vegetables, fresh fruit, pasture-raised meats, artisan cheese, unique bakery items, and so much more, all from local producers!  Bring the whole family and enjoy weekly live music and cooking demonstrations.  Admission to the market is free.  For purchases, the market accepts debit cards, Ohio Direction cards, cash, or check.

Departs Rockside Station:

Saturdays only at 9:00 am

Choose a trip by rail to one of our partner venues:  The Akron Art Museum or the Akron Zoo.  Take a short walk to Cascade Locks Park or dine at one of the area restaurants.  (Admission to attractions is separate).  Bus service is provided to partner venues.

The Peninsula Explorer journeys to the heart of the Valley to the historic Village of Peninsula. Enjoy a hike along the Ohio and Erie Towpath Trail, visit the unique shops and galleries, or treat yourself to lunch at one of the local restaurants. While on board...

Immerse yourself in the stories and sounds of the Cuyahoga Valley through the Voices of the Valley audio tour. Hear tales about the earliest settlement of the valley, the coming of the Ohio & Erie Canal and Valley Railway, the creation of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the return of wildlife and more. All you have to do is put on the headphones and turn the volume to a comfortable level. The tour will play automatically using GPS technology as the train passes through the valley.
