PROGRAMS OFFERED

Deer’s Ears – Explore Your Five Senses!

Grade Level: Preschool – K

Explore your five senses in a fun filled train ride through the national park. Along the route we’ll answer the questions that little minds want to know: Is you nose as good as a coyote? Can you hear as well as a deer? Are your eyes as sharp as an owl? Are your taste buds the same as a raccoon? Is your sense of touch similar to a river otter? This interactive program will utilize you and your senses as you explore Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

All Aboard for Animals

Grade Level: K – 3rd

Through the use of American Indian storytelling and props your group will learn about the animals that call CVNP home. Then we’ll peer out the windows of the train to search for the animals as they scurry from our train. This program inspires a wonder revelation of the natural beauty of CVNP. This program will help your students heighten their discovery skills while interacting with the physical environment.

Are We There Yet? Transportation in the Valley

Grade Level: 4th – 6th

*Fourth Grade Teachers! Ask about the “Every Kid in a Park” program when booking your reservation*

Each new mode of transportation changed the landscape and the lives of those who call the valley home. This interactive program will transport your students to the past to explore how the canal and railroad changed everything.

Explore the Underground Railroad

Grade Level: 5th – 8th

This program will take your students on a journey that is filled with harsh realities and hope that are the Underground Railroad. Students travel though an area utilized by runaway slaved and participate in hands – on and interactive activities. Join Park Rangers and costumed characters as they draw your students into a complex period of history when individuals used their lives to change the world.
