About the Program

Experience the magic of the holiday season aboard the Polar Express! Pajama-clad families board the train for a fun filled evening excursion including hot cocoa, cookies, and a reading of the classic Polar Express story. The wonder continues as the train pulls into the lighted North Pole Village filled with caroling elves and special on board visit from Santa himself. Climb aboard and hear the sweet sound of the bell ringing, as it does for all who truly believe!

Seating is assigned. Seats will not be moved due to lack of compliance with seat selection. The prices below do not include delivery and preservation fees.

Refund Protection

All tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable without the purchase of Refund Protection, which was offered at checkout, at the time of purchase. For individuals who have purchased Refund Protection: With the purchase of Refund Protection, the  railroad must be notified at least 3 days prior to scheduled trip. After 3 days, tickets will not be refunded.  The total cost of tickets will be refunded minus the $20.00 fee. All tickets are non-exchangeable and non-transferable. To notify the railroad, please email your order number and first and last name to .


Other FAQ’s

If I purchase tickets, and I am unable to take the train for any reason, are my tickets refundable?

All tickets are non-refundable without the purchase of Refund Protection. Refund Protection is available at check out. With refund protection, the Customer Service office must be notified at least 3 days in prior to your trip, and we cannot guarantee tickets can or will be switched to a different date if the event is sold out.

Are there any added fees to my total ticket cost?

At check out, we do charge a .25 per ticket delivery fee. There will also be a $1 preservation fee to your total cost (Our rail cars require ongoing care to maintain them. This modest fee will support the efforts of CVSR to ensure that these heritage cars will be able to travel through Cuyahoga Valley National Park for years to come).

Can I pick up my tickets at Will Call?

Tickets are available for print at home only. We do not offer a will call option. Please print out your tickets upon receiving the email confirmation. There is a .25 fee per ticket that is added to the total cost of your tickets. Email confirmations will not be resent due to lost tickets. Upon entering your information at check out, confirm that your email address is correct and valid.

Is the train wheelchair/walker accessible?

The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad has a handicap accessible car with a lift.  Please call our Customer Service office at 1-800-468-4070 ext. 240 to purchase your tickets.

Can I bring a snack or other food and beverages on board the train?

No outside food or beverage is allowed on board. Passengers with outside foods or beverages will be prohibited from boarding.

Is there food or Polar Express merchandise on the train?

There is a concession car on board that will offer a variety of snacks and non-alcoholic beverages as well as Polar Express merchandise. You will have time at the beginning and end of the trip to visit this car.

Are there restrooms on the train?

There are restrooms on the board the train and at the boarding platform.
